Trevor Ford, 27, and Kawand Cofield, 40, who was arrested earlier, got into a fight with the unidentified victim, 54, on May 19, about 5:40 p.m., Nassau police said.

“The dispute quickly escalated after (Cofield) displayed a handgun and pointed it at the victim,” police said.

The victim then fled into a building on Terrace Avenue, police said.

Cofield allegedly passed the gun to Ford, who fired two shots at the victim, missing both times, police said.

The victim then called 911.

Ford of Hempstead, was arrested on Thursday, June 20, and charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Cofield, also of Hempstead, was arrested on May 23 and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

Ford will be arraigned on Friday, June 21.
